Call of Duty Zombies Developers Have New Studio Formed by PlayStation
Call of Duty has been popular for years, having first released back in October 2003. However, Call of Duty Zombies wasn’t released until November 2009. Zombies was a brand-new game mode that was introduced within Call of Duty: World at War. The Zombies mode within COD has touched many people and even become the sole reason some players play within the franchise overall since it has become so loved.
Zombies soon expanded even more since its first release in 2009 to Call of Duty Black Ops - Zombies which was released on December 1, 2011. Over time, the mode grew more and more, now has become even more popular through the Black Ops series such as Black Ops 3, 4, 5, and now with the latest release of Black Ops 6 which has made Zombies even more intense.
However, it seems PlayStation is putting together a brand new team with some of the sole members who helped create COD Zombies back in the day and it could be a sign of something big coming.
What Is This New Studio by PlayStation?
Jason Blundell was once a part of helping behind the forces with Call of Duty Zombies and recently he has revealed that he will be working with a brand new team at PlayStation which could mean so many things for what to expect in the future. This isn’t the first time that PlayStation has worked with Blundell, so this is a good sign in terms of showing that PlayStation trusts him and wants to see more of his work.
The new studio that Jason Blundell will be a part of is called Dark Outlaw and as of right now, it hasn’t been determined what Dark Outlaw will be working on in terms of a brand new game. However, with the background of Blundell and PlayStation, it is believed that it will be a multiplayer title for a new entry franchise possibly but nothing can be completely clear yet.
During a podcast, Blundell spoke about how the team of Dark Outlaw has been “working away in the shadows” and won’t be stepping back into the light until their work is ready for the public to see. All that being said, there isn’t any way to know exactly what the team is working on.
What Could Dark Outlaw’s Studio Be Working On?
While we cannot know what the team is fully working on, it is worth noting that it could be something really big. With everything that is happening, it is worth looking back a bit in time with Jason Blundell. At one point in time in 2020, Jason Blundell and Dave Anthony both founded what was called Deviation Games, which was in a partnership with PlayStation. There was a lot of excitement when it came to their project, but unfortunately, Deviation Games had to close down and their project didn’t get the chance to see the light of day.
Blundell has approached things differently now by joining PlayStation differently with a studio formed under them. But with Blundell having had an idea before and much passion, it gives much hope for what the future holds in terms of what the first title might be under Dark Outlaw.
There is no telling what Dark Outlaw is working on currently, but the big thing to think about is that before gamers know it, in the coming years we will hopefully see a project announced during a State of Play. This will be cool to see as many people who had followed Blundell and his works will be excited to one day see that announcement if it comes.
