There have been many different “off-brand” LEGO sets that have been released featuring Pokemon made by companies like MEGA, who has created both sets looking a lot like official LEGO sets and also pixelated art pieces many Pokemon fans have collected to display around their walls.

Some of the sets created by MEGA include things like the Jungle Ruins Building Set which features a whole Jungle-like biome and different Pokemon ready to battle within it. Then other pieces feature a certain Pokemon on display which is perfect for fans to display in their office to show off their favorite Pokemon. However, now something even bigger is coming with an official collaboration with LEGO itself.

This announcement is huge as this will be the first time that LEGO has collaborated with Pokemon, bringing new official sets to the homes of fans all over the world.

What Could This Official Set Announcement Mean For Pokemon?

LEGO has collaborated with many different beloved franchises and games such as Minecraft with the crafting table set, Fortnite bringing things like the battle bus, and more, and also the recently revealed Mario Kart set that was released for Mario Day. LEGO is not new to collaborating with Nintendo-based franchises and brands that are heavily popular. This even includes the evergrowing Animal Crossing sets that are still getting many new sets this year.

As of right now, there isn’t anything official telling us what these Pokemon-themed sets will be, but we can only assume there will be a Pikachu as the announcement features its electric tail in the featured image. Below is the announcement from LEGO’s website.

“For the first time, the LEGO Group will be bringing the most loved Pokemon to life in a brand-new way, with play experiences that will delight new and existing fans alike.

Fans should keep their binoculars peeled and their Pokedex ready to experience the world of LEGO Pokemon, coming their way 2026.”

What Might The Sets Be In This New Lego Collab

As of right now, we cannot know fully what LEGO has in store for us, but with the trailer video that was shared in the announcement, we know Pikachu will be a part of the announcement.

However, we do know that MEGA has made sets featuring Pokemon in a large form so it seems that maybe LEGO would be planning something a bit bigger. This could even mean they will be making much bigger and more detailed play sets that fans can use to roleplay their own Pokemon adventure and display around their homes.

There could also be sets that are geared toward kids where the sets are more friendly to being played with rather than displayed which we have seen with many sets as well, which is more the direction that the Animal Crossing sets went toward in terms of allowing players to be creative with setting up their little island with the villagers houses and popular players like Nook’s store and more.

As of right now, we do not know what LEGO is working on with Pokemon, but we can rest assured that it will fit within what Pokemon is known for, cute little furry creatures that everyone knows and loves. While we have many things from MEGA already on our shelves, LEGO will do something to be able to stand out differently from what MEGA has already done. For now, it will be a while longer before we know what the sets will include, but we could get an announcement showcasing them before their release in 2026.
