Sometimes, games take inspiration from real-world situations. That's exactly what happened with Barnstorming, a flying game developed by Steve Cartwright under Activision in their early days. Cartwright said he came up with the idea for the game after seeing a biplane while driving back from work one day. The game puts you in control of a biplane, with the goal being to fly through a set number of barn houses without crashing into obstacles. There are four difficulty modes, with the fourth and final (Flying Ace) featuring a random layout of barns and obstacles every time you play.
