Castlevania Cheats For NES

$1,000 Money Bag

In the starting area of stage 1 where you collect weapon powerups and hearts, if you jump past the exit door a money bag will spawn behind you worth $1,000. Make sure to jump back past it so you don't proceed to the second part of stage 1.

Easy Lives

On stage 2 underneath the starting door to the stage, there is a candle that drops a money bag worth $700. If you grab the money, walk down the stairs, and back up, the candle with the money bag will respawn. You can do this over and over till you hit 30,000 points since this will be the needed amount of points to gain a life. This process is time-consuming but you will be able to gain 2 lives before the time runs out so you will always gain an extra life for every death. The plus side of it is that it's right below the stage 2 entrance so you don't have to go far. The video below shows you where to do this exploit.

Play Without Music

There is a glitch to start the game without music, to do this, let the demo from the title screen play twice over. Once the title screen appears for the third time (after the two demos played) hit the Start button to start a new game. All you will hear are the sound effects till you get to a new level.

Hard Mode

To unlock hard mode, beat the game and on your second playthrough, the hard mode will be available.

The following cheat codes are for Game Genie. These can be used on a Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) with a Game Genie device or you can use these on any emulator that supports Game Genie Codes. If you want a Game Genie Device, you can always check on Amazon for one.
