Contra III: The Alien Wars is a 2D, run 'n' gun video game developed and published by Konami. It was originally released for the Super Nintendo (SNES) being the 3rd Contra game released for a game console. The Pal version of the game went by the name "Super Probotector: Alien Rebels". The game consists of only 6 states, some of which contain an overhead view while playing the level. Players must progress through the game while fighting off an alien invasion.
