Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back Cheats For PS1

Unlimited Lives

To get unlimited or infinite lives, head to Un-Bearable (level 15). About halfway through the level, the polar bear chasing you will fall through a wooden bridge, after the bear falls, jump into the same hole it fell in and this will take you to a bonus stage. In this bonus stage, you will come up to a checkpoint with a bouncing box that needs to be activated underneath it. Activate the bouncing box and grab the lives from the platform to the right of the Aku Aku mask. You will gain 2 lives for every one lost, repeat this, jump in the hole, and spawn back at the checkpoint. If you grab the Wumpa Fruit each time, it will speed up this process.

Skip First Level

If you skip the initial cutscene when you start a new game, you won't have to play the intro level. This will take you straight to the warp room, where you can choose your starting level.

Colored Gems

Below you will find how to obtain the colored gems found in the game. Each gem has a challenge needing completion to obtain it.

• Blue Gem - The blue gem is located in Level 1 - Turtle Woods. To obtain the blue gem, beat the level without destroying any boxes.
• Red Gem -  The red gem is located in Level 2 - Snow Go but it can only be obtained by taking the secret portal in Level 7 - Air Crash.
• Green Gem - The green gem is located in Level 10 - The Eel Deal. At one point in the level, you will come across two tunnels that form a Y, take the tunnel to the right, which is filled with Nitro Crates. Get to the back-end of the room and there is a fake wall you can walkthrough.
• Yellow Gem - The yellow gem is located in level 11 - Plant Food. To get the yellow gem, just complete the level before the time runs out.
• Purple Gem - The purple gem is located in level 20 - Bee-Having. To get the gem make your way through the level until you can across Nitro Crates in the shape of a staircase. Walk up the Nitro Crate staircase and in the bonus area, you will find the purple gem.

Replay Boss Stages

To replay boss stages, stand in the middle platform of a warp room. Next, hold L1 + R1 + L2 + R2 + Triangle and press Up when Crash either points up or down. You will only be able to replay a boss that you have already defeated.

Alternate Ending

If you beat the game with 100% complete, you will see an alternate ending to the game. This entails collecting all gems and other collectibles such as crates.
