Earthworm Jim is a 2D run and gun platform game developed by Shiny Entertainment. It was initially released for the Sega Genesis and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) but eventually received ports to other consoles. Earthworm Jim is the first game in the series of Earthworm Jim games and the series eventually receives other games. The game features an antagonist named Jim, that wears a robotic suit and happens to be an earthworm. Jim was a normal earthworm until a suit fell from the sky that allows him to walk around like a human. Earthworm Jim uses his newfound abilities to defeat evil and rescue Princess What's-Her-Name from the enemies.
