Super Mario Kart is a kart racing game developed and published by Nintendo for the Super Nintendo (SNES). This was the first game in a long series of Mario Kart games that would span many decades to come. In Super Mario Kart the player takes control of one of eight characters, all coming from previous Mario games. The game offers a two-player mode where you can race against each other and the computer, competing in the same circuits available in single-player mode. Super Mario Kart went on to become the fourth best-selling Super Nintendo game of all time.
