The Death and Return of Superman is a sidescrolling beat-em-up game developed by Sunsoft. As you may be able to tell by the title, the game is based on the storyline of the same name from DC Comics of the era. Levels are the usual beat-em-up affair, requiring players to clear out all enemies before progressing to the next screen. There are five playable Supermen characters over the course of the game, though their abilities only differ in appearance rather than function. Which one you play as is determined by where you are in the game. The Death and Return of Superman is single-player only.
