The Legend of Zelda is a 2D action-adventure video game developed and published by Nintendo. It was originally released for the Famicom Disk System in Japan but later made its way to the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in North America. The Legend of Zelda was the first game in The Legend of Zelda series and was the initial debut of Link. The game is set in Hyrule, where a boy named Link must collect the eight pieces of the Triforce of Wisdom so he can rescue Princess Zelda from Ganon. The player controls Link and must make his way through enemy-infested lands, consisting of going through dungeons, collecting powerful weapons, and defeating enemies throughout his adventure.
