Cooking in Project Castaway

Being able to cook in Project Castaway is one of the best ways to keep yourself from dying due to starvation. You will need to cook any raw meat to avoid food poisoning and parasites, which can quickly lead to death if your stats aren't high enough to overcome them.

How to Cook in Project Castaway

To cook in Project Castaway you will first need a Camp Fire or Metal barrel stove.

To build a Camp Fire you will need the following:

• Stone x6
• Small Stick x5

To build a Metal barrel stove you will need the following:

• Metal Barrel x1
• Metal Sheet x2
• Small Stick x5

Cooking on the Camp Fire

To cook using the Camp Fire first, open your inventory and find the raw food that you want to cook. If you're using a controller press the right trigger (left button on the mouse) on the item you want to cook and drag it to one of the circles above the rocks on the Camp Fire, then press the right trigger (left button on the mouse) to release the item once the circle turns green.

Cooking on the Metal Barrel Stove

To cook using the Metal Barrel Stove first, open your inventory and find the raw food that you want to cook. If you're using a controller press the right trigger (left button on the mouse) on the item you want to cook and drag it to one of the circles above the metal rack on the Metal Barrel Stove, then press the right trigger (left button on the mouse) to release the item once the circle turns green.
